Saying For Today: The big something was like a specter hiding and haunting day and night. I was told finding the heart of Christ could help me.

A big something was missing from my life. The big something was like a specter hiding and haunting day and night. I was told finding the heart of Christ could help me. I searched for many years without success.

I heard the Sage might give me helpful guidance, for he often spoke of Christ. I visited him. "I've searched for the heart of Christ for many years. I've not found the way. Can you tell me how to get there?" He leaned forward and whispered, "Together." He reached out and took my hands, placing them in his.

With that, I knew I knew the way. The search was over. I have never forgotten how that word "Together" and the feeling of my hand in his changed my life. I do not feel that haunting anymore - not once since that visit with the Sage. I cannot tell you what the heart of Christ is. I would like to. But no one can. I can say the big something left and has never returned, not for a moment.

This story, being a wisdom story, is penned to speak to persons in different ways. Questions you might contemplate - What does this story say to me? ... What does the reply "Together" imply? ... What is the heart of Christ for me? ... Who is Christ to me? ... Do I have to be a Christian (or religious) to live in the heart of Christ? ... Have I ever felt a "big something" missing from my life? Did I find what that was? Was that fulfilled so that I no longer sense that lack? ... Can touch communicate wisdom as much or more than words can?
